The sun showed it's face today and it did not rain. It was our best day weather wise. Breakfast was good at the Bed and Breakfast in Bacharach . The usual good fair.
We biked down the Rhine river in what is considered the middle Rhine. Stopped in Oberwessel, one of the many towns with a lot history. Continued on down the river to Rhinefels castle ruins in St Goars. This the ruins are a castle built in the 12 th century. They would extract tolls from ships passing on the Rhine. This castle was one of the most fortified on the Rhein.
Had an excellent lunch here - outside in the sun. I actually put on my sunglasses.
We eventually settled on Boppard. Staying at another bed and breakfast near the Markt. We decided to go up the local sessellift ( ski lift). This afforded excellent views of the a large bend in the Rhine river overlooking Boppard. We ended up hiking down the mountain to Boppard. A great hike.
Had a nice dinner along the river with many restaurants, cool but tolerable for an outside dinner.
Tomorrow we hope to go,to Koln or Cologne to spend the night and visit the Gothic Cathedral here.
